The Victorian 5000m Championships feature graded races that culiminate in the Victorian titles for the distance. The Zatopek:10 is an annual high performance meet in Melbourne, which features elite 10,000m races. The 10,000m races has traditionally incorporated the Australian Championship for the distance. The Treloar Shield Final is the culmination of Athletics NSW’s annual interclub competition. The competition has been conducted for close to a century and was renamed in 2013/14 in honour of the late John Treloar, a finalist in the 100m at the 1952 Olympic Games. The Albie Thomas Mile was established in 2014 and named after the late Albie Thomas, who was a world record holder in the 2-miles and 3-miles in the 1950s and the first person to run a sub-four minute mile in NSW.
