We have the ambitious aim of creating a listing of every athletics track in Australia and expanding that to list all clubs and centres.
We estimate that there are around 500 tracks across the country. With your help, we can showcase them all.
How you can help:
1. Search for your local track.
2. If we have it listed, enjoy the content and offer suggestions to improve it. Or leave a review to let people know what the track means to you.
3. If we haven’t listed your track yet, add a new listing. Add what you know and others can build on that knowledge.
Why create the Australian Athletics Directory?
No matter your role – official, coach or athlete – or event on the track or in the field – whether masters, open or Little Athletics – the track unites us as part of one sport: athletics.
The lanes, circles and pits of our tracks should be celebrated. They carry the stories of those who came before us, the toils and triumphs of current athletes and the promise of those who will participate in the future in our great sport.
General information about the track, including it’s history, surface, management, opening hours and clubs/centres based at the venue.
The distance of the track, number of lanes, any steeplechase and field event facilities and seating capacity.
A listing of notable performances recorded at the venue. This will include national records set and highlights from Australian Championships and other major events held at the venue.
We are also establishing track records for major tracks around Australia.
Photos that showcase the venue. Ideally these are taken outside of competition and training.
A searchable map showing the venue’s location.
Add a review about the track. What makes it special to you? What don’t you like about the venue?
This website takes inspiration from the UK Running Track Directory.
