Holroyd Sportsground is located in Sydney’s western suburbs.
The venue was established in 1964 as A’Beckett’s Creek Reserve on the site of a creek that had been used as an unofficial dumping ground from the 1930s.
The venue was renamed as Holroyd Sportsground in 1970. Holroyd Little Athletics Centre was formed in 1971 and had initial challenges at the site with grass not growing on the track, and poor drainage.
The grass track is managed by the City of Cumberland and the Holyroyd Sports Ground Local Committee, which plays an advisory role. The infield is used for rugby union.
