The SA Athletics Stadium is the main synthetic track in South Australia and is made of Rekortan M99.
The track was opened on 26 January 1998 and replaced Olympic Sports Field as Adelaide’s premier athletics venue.
The venue regularly hosted a high performance domestic season meet from 1998 until around 2010, with infrequent meets since then. Notably, the venue played host to the 2024 Australian Championships, Australian Junior Championships in 2006 and 2009 and the Adelaide Invitational since 2022.
The venue was resurfaced in 2022, changing from a red to blue coloured surface.
Previously known as Santos Stadium under a naming rights deal, the SA Athletics Stadium is managed by the Office for Recreation and Sport.
Behind the back straight is a warm up area that features a 5 lane 100m track, 2 long jump pits, a high jump fan, javelin runway and two shot put circles.
The office facilities in the main grandstand are home to Athletics South Australia and Little Athletics South Australia.
The venue was finished 5th in the voting for Australia’s Favourite Track in 2024.
The track is a Rekortan M99 surface and is a World Athletics Class 2 Certified Facility.
