Australia’s Favourite Athletics Track – 2024

After over 16,000 votes across the contest, Australia’s Favourite Track has been named for 2024.

The winner is… Queensland Sport & Athletics Centre.

QSAC, which is currently slated to be redeveloped to host the athletics at the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane, defeated Lakeside Stadium in Melbourne in the final vote: 52% to 48%.

QSAC had finished second in the inaugural 2021 Australia’s Favourite Track competition, while Lakeside Stadium improved from 5th place last time around.

Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre retained its third place, beating 2021 winner Hagenauer Reserve, Box Hill in the 3 v 4 playoff with a 70% to 30% vote.

The remaining top eight places were filled by:

  • 5th: SA Athletics Stadium (32%)
  • 6th: AIS Athletics Track (26%)
  • 7th: Gold Coast Performance Centre (22%)
  • 8th: John Landy Oval at Geelong Grammar (20%)
