The Victorian Milers Club was founded in 2005 and runs a series of middle distance meets in Melbourne each year. The club is modelled on the British Milers Club. The Victorian Junior Track & Field Championships (Under 14 to Under 18) is conducted in single year age groups, with athletes needing to be under the age at 31 December in the year of the competition. The Perth Track Classic returns in 2026 after a successful hosting in 2025 following five year hiatus from the Australian domestic athletics scene. The Sydney Track Classic is the premier invitational high performance athletics meet annually held in Sydney. The meet has been cancelled for the 2026 season, due to the resurfacing of SOPAC not being complete in time for the meet to be held. The Adelaide Invitational is a World Athletics Continental Tour – Challenger meet accrues Category D ranking points for World Athletics Rankings. The one-day meet has been held annually since 2022 as part of Australian Athletics’s high performance circuit. Prior to this, Adelaide had regularly held similar meets through to the 2014 season. The NSW Open Championships date back to 1888 and are the oldest athletics championship event in Australia. Women’s state championshis were first held in 1926, and then regularly from 1932 under the auspices of the NSW Women’s Athletics Association. The Little Athletics NSW State Championships, for athletes in the U9 to U12s age groups, are held concurrently with the meet. Read more…

The Victorian Track & Field Championships have been held since 1891. The meet has incorporated both male and female genders since 1983. Prior to this time, separate men’s and women’s championships were conducted.
