    The 2026 NSW Country Championships will be held in Dubbo from 16-18 January 2026.

    It will be 82nd edition of the event, which was first held at the Sydney Sports Ground in 1939. The event is open to athletes from Athletics NSW country clubs.

    The meet is organised by Athletics NSW.

      The Barden Park Athletics Centre of Excellence in Dubbo was opened in 2014. The track underwent a $1.04M resurfacing in 2024. The venue has played host to the Little Athletics NSW Multi Event Championships and to the NSW Country Championships in 2017 and 2020. There is a large grass warmup area adjacent to the track.     The Adelaide Invitational is a World Athletics Continental Tour – Challenger meet accrues Category D ranking points for World Athletics Rankings. The one-day meet has been held annually since 2022 as part of Australian Athletics’s high performance circuit. Prior to this, Adelaide had regularly held similar meets through to the 2014 season.     NSW Open Championships

    The NSW Open Championships date back to 1888 and are the oldest athletics championship event in Australia. Women’s state championshis were first held in 1926, and then regularly from 1932 under the auspices of the NSW Women’s Athletics Association. The Little Athletics NSW State Championships, for athletes in the U9 to U12s age groups, are held concurrently with the meet. Read more…

    Victorian Track & Field Championships

    The Victorian Track & Field Championships have been held since 1891. The meet has incorporated both male and female genders since 1983. Prior to this time, separate men’s and women’s championships were conducted.
