Holroyd Sportsground is located in Sydney’s western suburbs. The venue was established in 1964 as A’Beckett’s Creek Reserve on the site of a creek that had been used as an unofficial dumping ground from the 1930s. The Zatopek:10 is an annual high performance meet in Melbourne, which features elite 10,000m races. The 10,000m races has traditionally incorporated the Australian Championship for the distance. The Victorian Milers Club was founded in 2005 and runs a series of middle distance meets in Melbourne each year. The club is modelled on the British Milers Club.
