The North Queensland Championships are held annually, catering to over 700 athletes from all areas of Queensland.

The 2023 event will be held in Mackay from 22-24 September and is a sanctioned event for World Athletics Rankings, meaning that qualifying performances can be recorded for other events ranging from the Australian All School Championships through to the Olympic Games.

The 2022 event had 730 athletes participate in age groups from 4 years to 60 years +.

This event is open to all ages and abilities who are members of Athletics North Queensland, Queensland Athletics or other Athletics Australia or World Athletics members.
