    The Canberra Track Classic is the premier invitational high performance athletics meet held in the ACT.

    The meet is a World Athletics Continental Challenger meet which accrues Category D points for World Athletics Rankings.

    The meet is conducted by Athletics Australia.

    The Canberra Track Classic in various forms dates back to 1986 and has been known by a number of names throughout its history as one of the premier athletics event of the domestic season. These include: Seiko AIS Invitational, AIS Invitational, AIS Drug Offensive, Twilight Invitational, AIS Sugar Games, Mars Challenge, Optus Grand Prix Canberra, Telstra A-Series Canberra, Australia Cup and Summer of Aths Grand Prix.

    Almost all of the current AIS Track Records have been set at this meet.

    The current naming rights sponsor is Chemist Warehouse.

      AIS Track and Field Centre

      The AIS Track and Field Centre is Canberra’s main athletics venue. The venue was originally constructed in 1985 as the warm up venue for the IAAF World Cup Athletics meet, which was held at the adjacent Bruce Stadium.
