The Victorian 5000m Championships feature graded races that culiminate in the Victorian titles for the distance. The event has been held separately as a standalone event to the Victorian Championships since 2007. Venues have included the former Olympic Park, Lakeside Stadium and Hagenauer Reserve, Box Hill. Blacktown International Sportspark Athletics Centre was opened in 2000 as a training venue for international teams prior to the Olympic Games. The track is a Mondo surface and is managed by Blacktown Sports Park, on behalf of Blacktown Council. CV Kelly Park is located in Girraween in Sydney’s western suburbs. The track is named after Charles Vincent Kelly, a farmer who previously owned the lands upon which the ground stands.
