The Adelaide Invitational is a World Athletics Continental Tour – Challenger meet accrues Category D ranking points for World Athletics Rankings. The one-day meet has been held annually since 2022 as part of Australian Athletics’s high performance circuit. Prior to this, Adelaide had regularly held similar meets through to the 2014 season. Women’s state championshis were first held in 1926, and then regularly from 1932 under the auspices of the NSW Women’s Athletics Association. Albert Park is located in Gympie in Queensland, approximately 170km north of Brisbane. The venue features a grass athletics track, and is used for rugby league in winter. The venue is managed by Gympie Regional Council. Read more…
The Glennie School Athletics Track is located at a private girls’ school in Toowoomba. The track is a non-standard distance, which appears to be approximately 354m per lap. Skippy Park is a grass track in Landsborough on the Queensland Sunshine Coast. The track is open during daylight hours and is maintained by the Sunshine Coast Council. The throws area is only suitable for use by children as the circles are raised above ground level. Read more…
