The Adelaide Invitational is a World Athletics Continental Tour – Challenger meet accrues Category D ranking points for World Athletics Rankings. The NSW Open Championships date back to 1888 and are the oldest athletics championship event in Australia. Women’s state championshis were first held in 1926, and then regularly from 1932 under the auspices of the NSW Women’s Athletics Association. Barlow Park is located in Cairns and is the city’s premier football and athletics facility. The track is a Rekortan surface, last relaid in 2018. The venue hosted the 2018 Australian All School Championships.
