The Adelaide Invitational is a World Athletics Continental Tour – Challenger meet accrues Category D ranking points for World Athletics Rankings. Women’s state championshis were first held in 1926, and then regularly from 1932 under the auspices of the NSW Women’s Athletics Association. Bill Paterson Oval is located within Limestone Park in Ipswich in south-east Queensland. The oval features a grass athletics track, which has synthetic long jump runways on its infield.
