The Victorian Milers Club was founded in 2005 and runs a series of middle distance meets in Melbourne each year. The club is modelled on the British Milers Club. Blacktown International Sports Park Athletics Centre was opened in 2000 as a training venue for international teams prior to the Olympic Games. CV Kelly Park is located in Girraween in Sydney’s western suburbs. The track is named after Charles Vincent Kelly, a farmer who previously owned the lands upon which the ground stands.
