The Adelaide Invitational is a World Athletics Continental Tour – Challenger meet accrues Category D ranking points for World Athletics Rankings. The one-day meet has been held annually since 2022 as part of Australian Athletics’s high performance circuit. Prior to this, Adelaide had regularly held similar meets through to the 2014 season. Makepeace Oval is a grass athletics track that is located in Fairfield in Sydney’s western suburbs. The track has long straights approximately 100m long, with tight bends to fit within the venue’s footprint. The Crest is located in Bass Hill and is managed by Canterbury Bankstown Council. The venue was originally a grass track before being resurfaced with Rekortan in the late 1990s.
